Angel Falls, plunging nearly a kilometre off the edge of Auyán-tepui in Venezuela's remote Canaima National Park, is the world's tallest uninterrupted waterfall — so high that much of its water turns to mist before reaching the pool below. Reaching it involves a flight to Canaima, a dugout canoe journey upriver through the Gran Sabana's flat-topped tepui mountains, and a jungle hike, making it one of the most remote major natural landmarks anywhere.
