Picasso's walled town on the Mediterranean
Antibes is a fortified Mediterranean town where Picasso lived and worked, the castle (Château Grimaldi) housing the world's largest Picasso collection. The old town is walled and walkable, boats crowd the marina, and the beaches are golden and crowded in summer. The location between Cannes and Nice makes Antibes a convenient Riviera stop with genuine character—less glitzy than Cannes, more genuine than Nice's tourist infrastructure.
