About Curonian Spit
The Curonian Spit is a narrow, elongated dune peninsula 98 kilometers long, separating the Curonian Lagoon from the Baltic Sea. Created by wave action and wind, the landscape is almost moonlike—endless dunes with sparse forest, creating a sense of walking on the edge of the world. Tiny fishing villages dot the spit, and cycling or walking the dune paths becomes a meditative experience of simplicity and natural beauty.
