Armenia's second city is constructed almost entirely from black volcanic tuff stone, creating a unique urban landscape of dark geometry and historical weight. Every building reflects volcanic Armenia's geological identity. Despite 1988's earthquake, Gyumri's residents rebuilt with architectural pride, creating a city that feels sculpted from the earth itself.
