About Garni
Garni's pagan temple rises unexpectedly in a volcanic gorge—the only Hellenic structure in Armenia, built in 77 CE and reconstructed after a 1679 earthquake. The temple's perfect proportions and intact state preserve a pre-Christian Armenian heritage. Nearby canyons and waterfalls provide scenic context.
